The Ontario government has finally come to the table with funding for the Holland Marsh Pollution Reduction project.  This project is vital for reducing phosphorous pollution reaching Lake Simcoe and this is welcome news.  The project is now fully funded thanks to infrastructure funding committed by the federal government in 2020.

However, we still do not have a fully funded plan to to reduce Lake Simcoe’s phosphorous pollution to 44 tonnes per year by 2030.  It has been 13 years since this plan was developed and it has been collecting dust on government shelves ever since.  Please ask Ministers Mulroney and Piccini when we can expect a fully funded plan to be in place while thanking them for their support of the Holland Marsh project, a great first step.
